STAFF Adrian Dantzer, Chairman The Ogemaw County Planning Commission is a seven member board. The board meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 8p.m. in the summer, and 7:30p.m. in the winter, in the Commissioners Chambers at the Court House. The board makes all planning decisions for the county, including: rezoning, special use permits, site plan reviews, text amendments etc. Planning Commission applications are now available from this site.

All rules related to the zoning ordinance are created by the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission also issue "special use" permits, approve commercial site plans, handle rezoning requests, and text amendment requests, etc. The Zoning Administrator enforces the ordinance, accepts, reviews, and processes all zoning applications, and reviews all building permit applications, for compliance with the ordinance setbacks, etc. The Zoning Board of Appeals, hears all appeals to decisions of the administrator, grants or denies variance requests, and interprets the intent of the ordinance.
