County of Ogemaw Website Linking Policy I. Purpose:   The County of Ogemaw web sites are designed to provide access to government departments, services and programs. From time to time, departments may wish to provide links to other sites that provide state or federal government information or additional information about the community, including festivals, cultural events, and local news.     II. External Links On County Web Sites:   The County of Ogemaw permits the establishment of links to external websites on the counties’ web sites solely in conformance with this policy. These links are only placed on County web sites after approval of the department head or his/her designee. In order to avoid the appearance of County endorsement of political content, links shall not be made to sites that are associated with, sponsored by or serving a campaign for elected office, any political party or organization supporting or seeking to defeat any candidate for elective office or ballot proposal.   To avoid any perceptions that the County endorses or provides favorable treatment to any private person or business enterprise, no corporate or commercial logos or direct links to vendor sites are allowed.   Links may be made to web sites that meet the following criteria:   1. Maintained by a non-profit charitable, educational, hospital, scientific or cultural organization serving Ogemaw County;   2. Maintained by a state, local or federal governmental agency, or local school or library board;   3. Maintained by an organization that receives direct financial support from the County;   4. Provides a unique online tool to assist in accessing information on the site or in communicating with each other, i.e., Yahoo! Note: Some of the links made available to you through the County's web sites will allow you to leave the County's sites. Please be aware that the Internet sites available through these links, and the materials that you may find there, are not under the control of the County. Therefore, the County cannot and does not make any representation to you about these sites or the materials available there.

III. Criteria for Individuals and Organizations Wishing To Link To The County’s Websites:   The County web sites are provided as an information source for public use. Ogemaw County strives to maintain the integrity of this site and to present information which is accurate and timely. The information is subject to periodic updates, revisions, deletions and additions without prior notice. Material provided at this site is gathered from many sources. Ogemaw county is not responsible for errors or omissions contained in the information, and makes no representations as to accuracy of the information.   Links may be made to the County web sites, but we ask YOU to follow the following criteria:   YOU: (1) Will not create frames around the County's Web sites or use other techniques that alter the visual presentation of the County's Web sites; (2) Should not imply that the County is endorsing you, your products or services; (3) Should not imply an affiliation between your company and the County without the prior written consent of the County; (4) Should not misrepresent your relationship with the County or present false or misleading impressions about County services; (5) Should not contain materials that may be interpreted as distasteful or offensive and must be appropriate for all age groups; and (6) Shall use a text hyperlink or the Licensed Mark only and shall not use any official County seal, logo, icon or other image.
